“Everyone knows that goths come out at night, but where do they go? If you’re anything like me, you’ll find Edinburgh’s world famous Frankenstein’s pub the perfect place to kick off the spooky season!”

Like all good members of the Hammer Film canon, Frankenstein’s monster came to life in the dead of night, and the pub that bears its name is no different. Like its namesake, the self-proclaimed “world-famous” pub is several things stitched together: a fringe venue that also hosts birthday parties, a hen night hotspot with a Oompah band playing downstairs.
Some events, like Silent Movie Tuesdays and Sunday karaoke, are weekly fixtures, but others are more sporadic, and could be anything from a Rocky Horror disco or the occasional cabaret. In addition to the sheer volume of activities, the pub often has all three floors operating at once, so you could be forgiven for thinking Dr. Frankenstein created the supremely organised staff himself.
I have genuinely never heard of Frankenstein’s pub but it sounds like somewhere that would be right up my street. £10 for a sandwich seems a little steep though! xx
What a fun place! I’ll have to check it out next time I’m in Edinburgh x
What an interesting themed pub! The silent movie nights sound good and so does rocky horror discos! That does sound a bit pricy but as you say I bet its worth it for the novelty!
I’ve never heard of this before but it’s so unique. I love how it transforms after 8pm and offers different events and activities, catering for lots of different tastes. Sounds like a great experience for all
I can’t believe I studied in St. Andrews University, and in my trips to Edinburgh, I never had the chance to go to this pub! It sounds AMAZING!
Wow this sounds like such a unique place I love the idea of having cocktails and dinner at a place like this – a little creepy but awesome!

Love your review, £10 is expensive for a sandwich lol. A very unique place, my husband loves Hammer films so would certainly visit if we were in the area
Thats a great concept. Very different. I would definitely be interested in visiting a place like this.
I love that this place is a one stop shop for a ton of activities! Seems like there’s always something fun going on.
I get to excited visiting places with classic horror memorabilia especially around Halloween. Definitely a place I would visit in Edinburgh.
I’ve never heard of Frankensteins before. It looks an amazing venue and I love the theme and idea. The prices definitely are eye watering though!
What a cosy looking pub! I’m going to have to recommend this to my friend who’s at Edinburgh at the moment 🙂 she’d love this!
This pub looks like such good fun, I have never heard of it before but I am not a local to the area. The drink looks incredibly delicious and I hope to visit Edinburgh one day so I will definitely check it out if I get there.
My SIL is from Edinburgh I will have to ask if she had been to this place before. It looks right up her street!
Never heard of such pub at all, but I cannot help but sense that it is a fun place to be.
I never knew there were themed pubs. How cool
Thanks for introducing this pub. I love the idea that it’s interesting by day and interesting by night, but in two completely different ways. I’m guessing that’s the key to its charm. 🙂
This pub sounds amazing! Wish there was something similar here. Love the silent movie night idea.
I wish we had pubs like this in the Philippines. It looks very cool and seems like a nice place to hang out if you just want to chill.
What a really different venue and fun place to meet up! Yes, it might be a bit expensive compared to other options but as a novelty, it would be good to go and check it out.
I really wish we had such a thing at my place! I really love how the theme changing in the night!
Such a fun and interesting place. I will keep it in mind because i really want to visit Edinburgh.
That’s fantastic to be able to spend an hour or two in a venue with such novelty factor.

This seems great, the boy is a bit of a goth, totally not something I would usually go for, but he makes me happy and he is all about Halloween, so this could be a place to take him.
Nevee been to Edinburgh but planning a trip for the forseeable future and this place sounds right up my cousin’s street so we must pop in beause she’ll be all over it!
£10 for a sandwich now that is scary! Looks like a really cool place to visit if it wasn’t so expensive.
This sounds so fun! I love the sound of this but also £10! Must admit sounds pricey for what it is x
I think this sounds like so much fun and definitely worth a visit x
This looks like such an exciting place I’d love to go, but those prices might make me a little reluctant though. 😀
I love the sound of this pub. Sounds really cool. I would love to visit when next I am in Edinburgh.
This looks like a fab place to visit, even if the prices are a bit eye-watering!
huh?! never knew a place like this exists, but I’m glad it does as it sounds entertaining to visit. that’s good that Frankenstein’s Pub’s decor/atmosphere makes up for the cost of food and drinks!
Sounds like a fun place to chill

£10 for a sandwich is super scary! That’s ridiculous!! I’ve never heard of this pub, not sure I could afford to go. 😂

Themed pubs sound really cool! We have a lot of themed places in Korea but I’m yet to come across a halloween themed one.
