Camens “Redolence” // Review

” The Staffordshire band are back with a new name, new music and new momentum, and they’re ready to take the festival circuit by storm!”

Hey guys,
Now, as most of you know, there aren’t many things I love more than festival season, which might be why I do everything I can to make my summer last as long as humanly possible. I mean, my festival prep starts as soon as university finishes, I spend my long pre-exam days dreaming about acoustic sets and secret gigs, and you’d have to get up pretty early in the morning to find a line-up announcement I hadn’t already seen.
With that said, there comes a time every season when the tents have to be packed away for good, and everyone comes back down to reality with a hard, uncaring thump. When that happens, there’s only one thing you can do, and that’s find a song that makes you feel like summer is happening all over again.

This year, that song is Redolence by Camens.
Honestly, this track has everything you need in an indie festival anthem; feel good, sing-along lyrics, some catchy riffs, and for good measure even a beat that is impossible not to dance along to. Indie is a way oversaturated genre, and as soon as summer rolls around every floppy-haired, moon-eyed boy with an acoustic guitar tries their best to craft a summer hit, but something about Camens really feels like the real deal.

Redolence has a kind of charming, laid back, authenticity that makes you want to leave it on repeat no matter how gloomy the skies get – which makes it the perfect song to listen to whether you’re packing for Leeds Fest, catching Camens at one of the many festivals they’re hitting up this year (check their Facebook for more details) or battling the hangover on the way home.

As always, leave a comment letting me know what you think, tell me what festivals you’re hitting up, and of course remember:

Stay Different,
Your Skye

  1. I’m not heading to any festivals this year either, tho I have a few awesome concerts planned for later in the year. I love finding new groups to follow and I love the band shots, super cool x

  2. Festival season is the best right? Love it when you find a song that sums up a summer of fun and feels authentic. Will give this a listen!

    Thanks for sharing!

  3. I’d have to check this band out as I am always on the look for new music. I find the best time to discover new sounds is when the festival season is on.
